A Review of the Film: Gone With The Wind. This paper will review the movie Gone With the Wind, and seek to understand what the ideas were behind this classic drama of southern life after the Civil War. The film extends over a time period of twelve years in the life of plantation belle Scarlet O'Hara, from the start of the Civil War through the Reconstruction Period, and covers her various romantic pursuits against the backdrop of historical events. By showing this aspect of southern life in this period, we can see how it represents a Hollywood version of a historical drama.
