An Analysis of Two films: "Platoon" and "Apocalypse Now". This paper is a comparison on two films. The films "Platoon" and "Apocalypse Now" share a common subject in the Vietnam War, but the films serve as good examples of two contrasting literary strategies. Oliver Stone's "Platoon" takes a representational approach, while Francis Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now" offers an experimental take on what is generally the same subject. The representational approach to art or literature is to use images and/or language in order to represent clearly and faithfully something that actually exists - whether that thing is an object, such as a rock, or an idea or philosophy, such as religion.
